Expecting Change:
Navigating Pregnancy, Early Parenthood, and Neurodivergence
A supportive workshop for neurodivergent individuals and couples preparing for the journey ahead
Pregnancy and parenthood are transformative experiences—and for neurodivergent individuals and couples, they come with unique layers of complexity. Join us this May for a 4 week series to ground, prepare, and learn. This group offers a chance for you to consider your sensory processing, organizational & time management, emotional, and communication needs. The group includes four 90-minute sessions designed to help you make a plan and prepare yourself so you can be present when you welcome your child into your calm and loving home.
Who this is for
This workshop is for neurodivergent-identifying individuals and couples. You might be autistic, have ADHD, and/or learning differences such as Dyslexia and want to explore how pregnancy and parenting intersect with neurodivergence. We create an inclusive, supportive environment that welcomes single parents, mixed neurotype couples (example: one partner is neurodivergent, the other is not), and LGBTQIA+ participants.
What we’ll cover
Sensory Sensitivities
We’ll help you create a sensory profile and explore how sensory needs can shift during pregnancy and beyond. Learn strategies to reduce overwhelm and build comfort into your environment and routines.
Heightened Fears & Anxieties
We’ll explore the unique fears many neurodivergent individuals face—whether they’re rooted in personal history, current events, or the uncertainties of parenting. Learn tools to manage these emotions without shame, and connect with others having shared experiences.
Executive Functioning Challenges
Pregnancy and parenting demand strong organizational skills—often in the face of fatigue and stress. We’ll introduce practical strategies for planning, time management, and focus to support you day-to-day.
Mood & Communication
Understand how hormones during pregnancy and postpartum affect mood, and ADHD symptoms if applicable. Explore the ways stress, sleep issues, and mood changes can impact communication and relationships.
Creative Expression
Engage in thoughtfully designed creative exercises that promote self-connection and serve as a buffer against neurodivergent burnout.
Mindful Community
We incorporate mindful self-compassion tools to help navigate sensory overload, emotional stress, and transitions. Learn practices that you can return to again and again.
